US Large Cents with Major Varieties, Circulation Strikes (1793-1857)

There are 143 coins in the PCGS US Large Cent registry set 1793-1857. Yesterday, with the acquisition of an S-286 1811/0 classic head cent, I completed it. It took more than a decade to find all the redbook varieties.
The toughest to find nice, were not necessarily the rarest or most valuable. Some varieties are just difficult to find that will be graded by PCGS.
Here are my list of the scarcest varieties:
1. Lettered edge wreath S-11
2. 1793 Liberty Cap
3. 1794 no fraction bar, S-64
4. 1811/0 Classic Head, S-286
5. 1798 rev of 1795 S-155
6. 1800/1798 S-191
7. 1807/6 small 7 S-272
8. 1794 Starred Reverse, S-48
9. 1823 N2 normal date
10. 1839/6 N1

Congratulations on an awesome achievement
And nice find on that 1811/0 - you almost never see them like that.

The toughest to find nice, were not necessarily the rarest or most valuable. - a common theme amongst the EAC -
i'm amazed to see at the least the 39/6 on the list. i don't recall seeing many nice ones since you mention it though. tons of rough ones out there.
i am actually shocked at how many nice (decent) CHLC i've seen out there after some of the statements on this forum. not easy but very doable to find. a lot were raw so perhaps they have been tampered with due to value?
so your requisite for the statement is nice and in pcgs holders. i steep hill indeed.
ESPECIALLY with so many being cracked out submitted, sit in a collection. graded, cracked out, sit in a collection. an interesting cycle/pattern.

You might want to think about getting the collection TrueViewed. They would present well.

major varieties ( with no hope of improving to #2 or #1 ) , but the thrill it provides to find something in the wild
is worth the ride.
Now you can help me with my 650 coin set!
We'll use our hands and hearts and if we must we'll use our heads.
<< <i>That is a truly remarkable accomplishment. Which of the coins is your favorite? I'd nominate the 1794 starred reverse cent but that's my nomination. It's more significant which one you pick as the favorite. >>
