Latest Mantle Pickup. (Thanks Matt!)

i say "Thanks Matt" because he has really been a "role model" in my tightening of my Focus to concentrate on the card IN the slab more then the number ON the slab. Something that anyone that collects slabs struggles with, if we like to admit it or not.

Anywho, won this tonight, and too proud to not share it image

Been looking for a centered copy in low gradeD form, this one's a little higher graded then i normally hunt, but that CENTERING! it was too good to pass up.

Looks great for the grade, Congrats!

  • Great pickup! By far, by favorite Mantle card. I find it so intriguing the way Topps ink jetted out the player behind Mantle.

What a beautiful card! How often does a '57 Mick pop up in any grade with centering like that? Very rare specimen in that regard. And happy to be of help in any way, my friend. If I saw that card I would sell my 5.5 and upgrade to the 4 in a heartbeat. Great eye and great pickup!

Way to go Eric. That card is really tough to find centered. Looks better than a 4.

When are you getting your 52 Topps Mantle??????

    I missed this one Eric.

I'd be staring at it too.

In the world of '57 Mantles - this one is a centered beauty!.

I have an OC and your card looks way better - congratulations on the pickup.

That is an awesome pickup Eric, but the corners look soft to me. image

in my opinion the 57 Topps was the best card ever printed of the Mick with the 59 a distant second.

WOW !!! VERY Nice Card !!!
As someone who sometimes gets carried away with the number on the label more than the card in the holder, I have learned to appreciate a nice looking lower grade.
I hate to say lower grade when it is such a nice looking card.
    Congrats on the pick-up.
