Bad pictures of my burgeoning 80's unopened baseball collection

Hello all,

I am a pure ripper at heart, but lately I've found myself purchasing more and more '80's boxes and socking them away, while getting my fix for carnage with something shiny or something from 1987. As you'll see I've tried to focus on affordable '80s boxes, and not the boxes that I was routinely ripping through for half their current prices a couple years ago. Anyway, I had never had them all together until now, and everybody's doing it, so i figured I'd share (despite all the bubble wrap). Thanks, of course, to Steve and board members (Anthony, Peter, and Wolfgang) for all the great stuff!

In case you can't make it out they are:

1 x '82 Donruss wax, 3 x '82 Fleer wax, 1 x '82 Topps vending
3 x '83 Donruss wax, 2 x '83 Fleer wax, 2 x '83 Topps vending
1 x '84 OPC wax, 1 x '84 Topps vending, 2 x '85 Leaf wax, 1 x '85 OPC wax.

The only things that may be on the chopping block (if I have a few too many beers sometime) are the '84 vending and one of the '85 Leaf's. The others, I guess I'll just have to have an absolute blast with my future kid in 20 years or something.

Thanks for looking!

Scott, this is how it starts. image

Great looking start to the unopened collection. Remember, it is still cheaper than crack and it doesn't go up in smoke.

    Looking forward to the updates.

Ha, thanks Mike! I'll keep that handy tip in mind.

If I remain ever vigilant with my nose to the grindstone, I just might someday be able to use these lowly '80's packs as toilet tissue like some guys around here image

Nice work. The 85 Leaf is a monster crap shoot. Collation was as consistent as my bowel movements. I've opened skunkers and opened a box and got 5 Pucketts and 4 Clemens (and 1 pack with Clemens showing on the back that I didn't open, so 5 Clemens in total). The boxes aren't easy to find, I'd leave them sealed up.

Nice assortment of boxes, Scott! That vending box is a prime candidate for ripping, though! image

    Thanks guys!

I may well leave the Leaf box sealed, I just have a soft spot in my heart for ripping this issue. I remember a few years ago Krukcards would list what seemed like an unlimited supply of these boxes and I would routinely win them for $30-40 a piece and happily tear through them. But I think you just might have saved this one's life though Reggie.

Yeah, Tim, as for the vending... Off with its head(s)!
