Paypal Select

Did anyone else here get an email from Paypal telling them that they are now a Paypal Select member? I received the following email a couple days ago:" You're a PayPal Select member.
As a result of your account activity and excellent history, you are now a PayPal Select customer. It rewards you with special offers at great retailers and front-of-line customer service. Plus, we're adding more members-only benefits all the time." I see that you can get discount coupons at a few places that accept Paypal payments like $10 off a $50 Target purchase if Paypal is used for payment. It also says that is you call Paypal customer service you will be helped quicker. Other than that I see no benefits.

  • Got it. Basically ignored it because I don't see any benefits that I'll actually use.

+1 - Target sends out those coupons all the time as well.

Received a 50.00 coupon for some prescription eyeglass retailer and a free offer for contact lenses? I wonder if this is geared to power seller status?

Got it, didn't really look at it, just looked like another sales pitch from a quick glance. I don't think Power Seller has anything to do with it, just Power Buyer image

I suspect virtually all PayPal members with any kind of semi-significant user history received the "upgrade."

I prefer 'everyday low prices' instead of coupons.

Got the first one of these I've used today, $10 off a $50 purchase at WalMart. With the $50 purchase you also get free shipping and I was able to find some 2013 Topps FB blasters (10 packs + 1 ribbon patch card each), worked out to a little over $16 each for 3 of them after the discount and adding tax.

Just a heads up for those that received it and are looking to satisfy a ripping itch...
