Seems strange to me, the piece is so big and the auto seems out of place.
  • Thanks.
You good with the auto? It looks good to me.

  • Is that plans for his restaurant or maybe his bowling alley? That's my guess

Where would you have wanted him to sign it?

  • It looks right to me I have three Mantle Auto's and it looks authentic, maybe shot it to PSA for a 10$ piece of mind though.

I believe it's a print of architectural drawings. In the bottom corner it says "Part D Addition Elevations". It's fake dated 12-19-27

Sorry for the lack of detail. I'm on my ipad.

  • That is a little weird for a Mantle autograph but still it looks right to me. Would have been damn cool if it was on one of those though

I remember a number of years ago blue prints for the original Yankee Stadium were sold off in pieces like this. I cannot remember if Mantle signed them when they were sold or if the original owner who purchased this item had him sign it. Personally, I would rather have the original blue prints without the signature added. I think it takes away from the piece.
I am on a budget and I am not afraid to use it!!

The recently demolished original Yankee stadium was the first baseball stadium with an upper deck.

The "mantle" looks suspect to me

This guy have any legit stuff in his collection? (I saw the "Jeter" helmet)

  • The guy was the president of a popular sports collectible company. I got a number of legitimate autographed bats, photos, football helmets and balls. The Jeter helmet was mixed in the bunch. There was no claim about the Jeter helmet, that was just an assumption on my part. He was a big Yankees fan. I got all-star tickets from the 2008 game in the new stadium, signed photo's he took with Phil Rizzuto and Doc Gooden... Random miscellaneous stuff that is 100% legit. All of the other legit stuff makes me feel good about this, but I'm always on the fence when it comes to unathenticated signed Mantle stuff.

I don't like the Mantle autograph. The M's don't look right to me at all, and there are a couple other aspects I don't like about it.
