Asking for opinions on some 84 and 86 FB cards for grading.

These are all eBay pickups from the last several months. The first batch is from a set that was advertised as "from vending". Are any of these cards worth sending in for grading? What is your guess on the grades for these cards?

Next up, is an accumulation of 80's raw cards. I am wondering what opinions you guys have on these for grades.

Thanks for your opinions!

Something about the 84 Marino does not look right to me?? The T/B boarders look smaller than the L/R, IMO.

I think it's worth subbing all the Rice

I would sub them all except for Passing Leaders and Steve Largent (not much value there unless it's a Gem 10. For $7 to $8/card the risk is pretty low on the other cards....hit a few 9's or even a 10 and you'll be happy.

By the way...those cards are very nicely centered for an 86 vending set. I think you lucked out. I've been hunting for a nicely centered raw 86 Rice but haven't had any grade out higher than a 7. It's a tough card to buy raw and grade high, but not super expensive for the risk/reward.

Agree on that. The top Steve Young looks like T/B centering is too far to the top. The bottom Steve Young, not sure if it's my eyes and the wacky diagonals, but it looks slightly diamond cut. Again, could just be me.

    Nice pickups overall.

No that bottom young is definitely screwy.

This one has a bit of a tilt on the cut, but I think it appears worse since it's not squared up in the scan.

Agree on subbing all the Rice's, anything 7 and up sells quickly and for well more than grading fees. Marino does look short T/B.

1986 Montana - no L/R too far off. would be an 8

Esiason No T/B too far off. Would be an 8

    Rice - yes

Passing leader - yes, but there are 26 tens so not a huge value if looking to sell. 9/10

    Marino - yes

Largent - no just looks odd.

    Payton yes.

Young - no unless you want to sell it as an 8. Does not have a chance as a 9

    Marino rookie - yes

    Rice - Yes

    Young - same as above

Checklist - no clue on that set

Rice - yes on the next two.

Thanks for the feedback so far. Sounds like the concerns is is that the Rice RCs are all worth sending in. Any numerical grade guesses?

The corners are sharp, but they do look like they have slight wear on the top tip parts on the Rice cards I think you have 8s on them.

I'll play pessimist and say 3 7's and 1 8. It's one of those cards they seem to be extra tough on.
