Back grading

I don't pay attention to the backs of cards most of the time, but when I send in something like this, I generally get a miscut or OC qual. Are some sets notorious for back cuts and PSA allows for this?

Apparently the grader didn't as well. This has to be an oversight. Possibly due to it being a large submission?

<< <i> The only reason I can think of as to why it didn't receive a qualifier is that maybe the box border on reverse is physically larger than the card and it will always be cut off on one side and the grader knows this. >>
Good call. That is a good possibly.
I guess the only way to know for sure would be to email Joe or whoever at PSA. Giive him a link to the auction and ask if it's an oversight or a common practice.

<< <i>my experience with sending in hand cuts where the back and front don't match by design (not a printing error) is that the back doesn't matter. I don't believe this to be an oversight. >>
Exactly. I submit a lot of hand cuts and this is frequently run across. Not an oversight whatsoever and there shouldn't be qualifiers for that on this type of issue. It's most frequent on Pocket Price Guide cards from the early 90's. I don't think I've ever seen a back that lined up with the front on any of them and I've pulled plenty of 10's

You subbed these to PSA? If so when? They didn't grade these in the past deeming them unlicensed cards.

They do the SCD cards but not BBCard Mag. Not sure why there is a discrepancy between the two.
I've hammered a lot of hand cut cards trying to have them align with back. I should have posed this question long ago.

<< <i>Wow.......I was just gonna post a topic on this matter.......I'm looking at some 1974 WHA hockey cards for a sub........strong 9's on the front, but the backside is consistently O/C right edge, almost to the point of all of them are right at 80/20 consistently......would this fall into the "factory original" this is the best we could do category? >>
80/20 centering on back falls well within PSA's parameters for PSA 9 grade. 90/10 or better is the requirement.
Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
