Shipping a Rack Pack

I need to ship a 75 rack pack and was looking for suggestions on the best way to ship it. I was thinking wrap it in bubble wrap, then put between cardboard, then wrap that in bubble wrap, box it up and send it out. Is there a better, safer way to do this?

Thanks!

that way always works for me. Whatever you do -- do not fold over the rack. Keep it flat--place between cardboard--bubble wrap --then use big mailer box. Make sure you stuff the mailer so rack does not bounce around

    Hey Seth,

I wouldn't wrap the rack in bubblewrap first. I would cut two pieces of cardboard the same length as the rack (not folding the header card like Manny said) and make what I like to call a rack sandwich. I would then wrap that in bubblewrap. This way, when the buyer opens the rack he doesn't have to worry about accidently cutting into the rack when getting the inside bubblewrap off. Hope that makes sense.

As Manny said, you want a box where you are able to put packing peanuts or the like so none of the edges are too close to one of the sides in case the box gets bumped around.

But my question to you is why you didn't sell this rack to me? image Congrats on the sale!!!

    Thanks for the answers, gents.

Mike, that is really what prompted my question, the sandwich. I first wrapped the rack in bubble wrap then put the cardboard "bread" on it, but it didn't sit right. Thanks for the clarification!

Since said rack is coming to my house I would suggest a moving van packed with peanuts, and armed sentries trotting on all sides of the van.

Suggest a parade like atmostphere with clowns and people on stilts. Lots of fireworks. I would also suggest the entire van is scootching along on a large flat surface of sealy posteurpedic bedding.

No problem Seth. And if you were going to sell a 1975 rack pack to someone other than me, you couldn't have picked a better guy. Just don't tell Grote. image
