Only six Cogan sales were plated so that should narrow it down for you. I also have copies of them all if you want something checked.
Edit to add:
Here are the six lot #65's for his plated sales. MACKENZIE - Roman Denarii ALLAN - Septimius Severus MONTREAL - Roman Thurium CAUFMANN - 1806 Half, Fair SANFORD - 1862 Pattern Dollar. (Which doesn't exist so who knows what he meant. His description on this is 1862 Do. do. without do. do.) COHEN - Ancient. Nero / Rev Africa JENKS - 1840 Dollar

Thanks that's what I figured... Can't seem to locate what was supposed to have sold in this sale.
I've gone through the whole catalog beginning to end and end to beginning just in case it was wrongly categorized.
Bummer!
If it is May you're after, May 1870 was also E. L. Mason's sale of Montroville Wilson Dickeson. Pretty thin at 15 pages and 422 lots.
If it's Allan you're after he had a consignment in May, 1864 w/Bangs Merwin. Also thin at 16 pages & 416 lots.
If it's something else, let me know and I can take a look.
Looking for one of William C. Prime's consignments which was to have been plated.
Unfortunately if 1870 is a typo Prime consigned with Cogan regularly over a 20 year span.
