Shipping Coins: Other End Bottom Dwellers

The other post on shipping coins, with great answers, registered, etc.
How about the other end, cheap stuff.
For example, how does a person have a buy it now for 50 cents, free shipping on ebay?
Even 1st class with tracking is much more than that?
Even the stamp costs that much.
How do they do it?
For shipping less than $10 worth of coins, how would you recommend, if the selling platform is ebay?
Thanks

I am in the process of building feedback up on 2 extra ebay accounts and I will ship $10 coins in an envelope with stamps. I have a huge pile of nearly free stamps that I got from a collection I bought long ago.
There is no reason to pay $1.93 to ship with tracking on a $10 item. If you aren't worried about top rated status you don't need tracking at all.

you can provide "fake" tracking numbers for buyers and never loose your top rated status. Some Ebay sellers use fake tracking numbers all the time.

ebay is changing the ability to do this in August. New Top Rated requirement is that post office acknowledges acceptance in a certain time frame as well. So if you have a PO that routinely doesn't scan packages, you will lose your status.

They're building up feedback as cheaply as possible. Throw it in an envelope with a stamp and away it goes.

Yes, $1.93 with the ebay shipping discount.......plus the cost of your shipping supplies (bubble mailers, paper, tape, etc.)

For single coins in 2X2's less than an ounce, If you go to the post office there is a "non-machinable" option for a regular envelope that cost around 70¢. This (supposably) prevents the envelope from going thru the sorter preventing damage to the envelope/coin as it's a little thicker than an envelope with plain paper in it. Anything heavier and you'll most likely have to use the 1st Class option up to 13oz, then it's Priority territory after that.
Too many positive BST transactions with too many members to list.
BTW that trip to the Post Office costs me more than it saves.
I can say back in the Amazon and Yahoo auction days I shipped 300 plus coins with just stamps no loss at all.
some times it makes sense , sure there are a few dishonest folks who might use this to get free coins
but it is rare. If one out of a hundred was lost it would still make a ton of economic sense to use the cheap route.
I rarely sell coins anymore but would not be worried to send a 10 buck coin in a piece of cardboard and envelope and stamp.
slabs or valuable items I always use a box and consider those cost when selling an item.
<< <i>I am a person who sells it for less than the cost of shipping, it's true. But, I can make it up in volume
<< <i>Keep in mind ebay charges you 10% on your shipping fees too.......
...yes...please as I say...keep in mind...
