Which looks better? Need help/opinion

I would like to know which one you all think looks better?
I personally like the PSA 5 better for the centering, edges, and registration.
Do you think the raw has a shot at a 5 or 6? Thanks

The 5 has way less chipping on it.
  • What do you think the raw would grade out?

    A 4, IMO.

Put a black background against the raw card and then you can see just how much chipping there is.

  • The raw card has a butt-ugly cut on the bottom left in addition to all the chipping. The PSA 5 has a little bit of the same thing but it's not nearly as horrifying.

The PSA 5 is Usain Bolt and the raw card is the white guy in lane 8.

  • The raw is a picture I took off ebay. I don't own it. Of course the seller on the raw says the card is in EX-MT condition lol.
I was thinking a 4 myself, but maybe a 5, but the 5 would look worse than the graded 5. No chance at a 6 right?

    Good one!

Hard to say given the raw scan is so much larger and may show more flaws than the graded, plus I suspect the graded scan has been enhanced.

Personally, I would wait it out for a better centered one... but you're going to have to accept some chipping on a mid-grade 1962.

But if I had to pick between the two, I would go for the graded example as well.

P.S. Erm, the graded one belongs to Matt. Did I just respond to a troll or what? image

    Good eye!

I used unsharp mask on the scanner but other than that I did nothing.

Nope no troll. Dan was posting the thread because him and I were discussing if I should buy the raw card for a possible upgrade. He talked me out of it and got the board's opinion to cement it.
