Maybe, but most likely on Saturday. It is 2.3 miles from my house.

I am not sure I will make it to this one.

Sumo, for the longest time, I lived in Centreville. Still own a townhouse there.
How long have you loved in the area? Funny that two long time wrestling collectors could have lived so close to each other!
I am buying and trading for RC's of Wilt Chamberlain, George Mikan, Bill Russell, Oscar Robertson, Jerry West, and Bob Cousy!
Don't waste your time and fees listing on ebay before getting in touch me by PM or at gregmo32@aol.com !

Do you still live in the area? I actually live in Chantilly. We've been there for a year and likely a few more years.

I live in Front Royal, but work near Gainesville. Have been in the area most of my life. I have not been able to devote much time to the hobby the past few years, but that show has always been a good one. How did you end up in VA?

  • I usually go to the Chantilly show, but will be out of town. Since I'm going to the National, thankfully I don't have to explain to the wife why I'd need to hit two shows in a month. I'll be there in October!

Johnny Football is going to be at the October Chantilly show to sign. Leaf is giving free Manziel cards out to promote it.

Good question, I haven't ventured out since I can get my fix at the Chantilly show right next door.

Anyone have any good stories from the Chantilly show? I spent about 2 1/2 hours browsing today. Bought some junk 1980s packs to rip for nostalgia and some 51 Bowman commons. Didn't see anything I couldn't live without, but it was fun looking and I could have easily started collecting random sets I probably don't need to dive into right now.

There was a lot of people there for autographs. I guess there were a bunch of Redskins players today signing. Not my thing so I didn't check it out.

Very little wrestling. Only a few modern items I was able to see. Lots of 4-sport vintage out there and it seems there were bargains to be had all over the place. Looking forward to the next show in October already.

Do we have any pic's from the show, or your pickups? Was there any good vintage from 67 to 71? or 75 topps minis?
I was going to go but it would be like a 7 hour drive for me just to get there.

For me it was a good show as a customer. I sold a autograph I brought for $110. I bought a group of 3x5 autographs for $40 worth a couple hundred bucks. For seven dollars i picked up a 1916 first edition copy of football days signed by College hall of famer Big Bill Edwards, one in huggins and scott sold for $400 but mine isnt falling apart and in nearmint condition, I also got a 1962 Giants Redskins program signed on the front Y.A. Tittle Nfl Record seven passing touchdowns!. I get some pieces signed each time I go and Bob Brown was awesome, Morgan Moses was great, and surprisingly to me Dez Bryant was extremely humble and a pleasure to meet! On the flip side never ask mean Joe greene to sign anything besides his name he literally scowled at me pushed back my picture across the table. I was upset but took the stub and instead of asking for a cash refund I went and got Walter Jones to try and end on a good note and there is not a better person being inducted in this class he really helped end the show for me on a good note! The customer service at Chantilly from the people who run the show is unlike anything else Ive ever experienced in the hobby I would recomend it to anybody (: as far as cards sorry I cant help but its pretty much the same dealers you see at any other show

I went Friday afternoon, which is my m.o. I don't collect autos, so its a no-brainer - no crowds, no lines and free admission.

There was very cheap blow out wax everywhere, but I decided to pick up small stuff, like some 86 Sportflics Rookies sets for $1 each - these have Barry Larkin's first card, together with the usual suspects - Bonds, B. Jackson, Canseco, Clark, etc.

Also picked up 200 Barry Larkin Topps RC's for $20.00.

If you were a Ruben Sierra fan, you were in luck. 1986 and 1987 RC's all brands for 10 cents each, about 1,000 total.

    Got some free auction catalogs.

Bought some 1988 Maxx racing sets and wax, some 1968 Topps Baseball Posters and a real nice 1972 Topps Football low number set minus the Staubach RC.
