That's because they're usually reserved for players on the Dallas Cowboys haha
  • It seems like a very simple concept when you are that talented of a player: Just stay clean and out of trouble for 10 years or so. At that point you're 32 years old, you have more money than you could ever spend, and you can do all the drugs you want for the rest of your life.

Easier said than done for some people.

Within 30 minutes, Tim's prediction came true.

Josh Gordon wishes he had 1/4 of your punctuation.
  • Lol!! Really, he should play for ten to fifteen years then load up on the drugs, alcohol, felony charges and whatever else may float his boat! He will be in prison doing some within 2-3 Yeats I bet. What a loser!! Anyone want my Gordon cards? Lol

Guys like Josh is destined for jail/bancruptcy regardless of who they have around them. They continually place the wrong guys in their lives. Not pointing fingers at all because that life style is a hard one to exist in but you have to make good decisions. This starts in high school and continues for the rest of your lives. I am amazed at how stupid the NFL scouts are with their evaluations of these guys. If my money was at stake I would much rather offer contracts to men who are surrounding themselves with quality guys.

Looking for high grade rookie cards and unopened boxes/cases

People do stupid things all the time. The problem with most of these athletes, unlike most others, is that they've had people covering their tracks most of their lives to keep them playing. Whether it was passing them through school, buying them cars, getting misdemeanor or felony charges swept under the rug or what have you, at some point, you have to face the music. The average person either learns early on, gets put away or dies. These guys make it into the limelight and then their missteps become more pronounced. You can't fix stupid...

I've seen more than my share of people throw away incredible talent for the sake of doing something that most would consider stupid, but they don't make it on TMZ or the lead story on ESPN. They just end up being nothing when they could've been something far more important than a burden on society or a headstone in the cemetery.

  • I try not to lose any sleep over someone I don't know or care about. He's a big boy and responsible for his actions, yet he continues to make horrible decisions. Sometimes people are just beyond help.

Josh Gordon has a lot going for him right now, but that doesn't mean he should be less likely to get into drugs. In fact, for many people, it's more of a lightning rod to do drugs.
I used to think the same way a lot of people think regarding this stuff "how can this kid be doing this? He has it made"
I have a different understanding of the disease of addiction now. it's a lifelong battle that is very difficult to overcome, particularly for a 22 or 23 year old with a lot of money and a lot of free time.....and the exposure to the drug scene.

He needs a lot of help, and the odds are against him, but I hope he can beat this and turn it around

From what I can tell, 707 is the DOLLAR STORE compared to deans_cards. For what that guy charges, if I ever bought anything from him I would expect it to be delivered to me in a frickin' limo.

So after he performs at a hall of fame level for a decade or more, allowing your investment into his cards to increase in value, then you are okay if his life spirals out of control. Calling him a loser only makes you look bad not him.

Traded him in my dynasty league on the 1st for Vernon Davis. Think I will be smelling like roses on this deal.
