My new collecting challenge - 1955 Topps set

A few months ago, I bought a lot of 10 1955 Topps cards on eBay that CU forum member psychump advertised on the BST board. I've always liked the colorful design and the portrait and action shot on each front. I decided at 206 cards, this set should be fairly easy to put together, especially compared to my other current goal (1971 Topps Greatest Moments set).
I now have 81 cards (close to 40%) of the set. Cards are generally VG to EX. One thing I've found is that it is easier to get 'as described' cards on eBay in lower grades than buying raw 'near mint' ones. I've only had to return one really overgraded lot so far.
As with my 1975 mini set, I will be collecting the HOFers as PSA graded cards. There is no Mantle in the set but rookie cards of Clemente, Koufax and Killebrew can command big bucks. I figure PSA 4s for most of the HOFers (I already have a nice Aaron in a 4) and maybe some day I'll get lucky and get a nice Clemente in a 3.
Anyway, here's my Aaron. I bought it as a PSA 4. It has since been cracked out, resubbed and regraded a 4:

I always liked the baseball design and, of course, the 1955 Topps All-American set is a must for any vintage football collector as well.
I would rather have the rookie card crop in 1955 than a 5th year Mantle anyhow.
Good luck with the remaining 60% and feel free to show them off as you add them.

<< <i>I only need the clemente to finish the 55 topps in psa 6 >>
Of course you do.
<< <i>The '55 Clemente in a PSA 6 would kill me. I was shocked to see what people want for PSA 4s. >>
That is why I don't have yet. Very high cost for me at the moment. But will get it done this year.
Is your set raw or are you going to submit? Do not be afraid to show scans of my lot you won! Thanks , Jim
<< <i>There is no Mantle in the set >>
Whaaaaaaaattt?! (think of the "we have no chimney scene in Amazing Spider Man 2)
No Mantle?
Next, you're going to tell me there is no basement in the Alamo.
(also referencing a thread from about a month ago related to the 54 set)
Good luck. I enjoyed putting the set together in the 90's in low grade. It is a colorful set and not so large as to overwhelm. I am assuming you must be far along enough in the Greatest Moments set that there must be lulls between finding ones you need on Ebay. I know from casually looking that there must be about 20 cards that do not pop up too often.
This is definitely to fill the lull in the 1971 TGM set - the 9 cards that I need are not shoiwing themselves too often but I'm still keeping my eyes open.
One added benefit of building a set in VG to Ex is I can actually handle the cards without worry of hurting the condition - just like in the good ol' days.
<< <i>What I meant about there being no Mantle in the set was that it will be easier to compile without having to shell out big bucks for the Mick. >>
I hear you. I was just trying to use a couple of movie references to joke about some previous threads.
Just looking at the 1956 Mantle, I would guess that in G-VG, a hypothetical Mantle would run between $200 to $400.
