Hello Friends,

Overall I'm pleased with the results, but I still think the '72 Topps Football cards are under-graded. They might be getting a second trip to Newport Beach.

    I count (7) 10's and (4) half-points image

Were many of the 9's previously 8's?

    Good percentages image

    Thank you Mike!

I tried to go back and see if any of the 8's bumped - but it's hard to tell since they update the grades attached to a specific Cert # on your old submission lists in the PSA database. However, I'm guessing there's at least ten bumps in there with the seven 10's.

What does this say about the initial grades? Is there really that much varience between graders?

When you consider the thousands of cards graded each month by PSA, it is not unrealistic to see review bumps for the much smaller percentage of high end cards for the grade if you are well versed enough to know what to look for.

My last 15 card review submission yielded one .5 bump. I am impressed with your percentage of cards that bumped.

Its clearly July the 3rd, the 4th is on a Friday. That grader was really happy today looking forward to a long weekend of cookouts, beer and fireworks. He decided to spread the cheer.

I am just kidding of course, I am sure your cards were selected from thousands as the few that looked way better than the grade.

Hahaha - I'll take it however I can get it! If sending a case of cold beer along with my next submission helps, count me in on that too!

I've opened a ton of Tiffany sets, and in my opinion - it's much harder to pull gem mint cards from Tiffany sets than from regular factory sets. At least that has been my personal experience.

I'm typically really bad about remembering to follow up these threads with some scans - but not this time! Upon further review - I think the OJ and the Greene cards are accurately graded, but I still feel like Bradshaw could bump.

I think centering is preventing those from bumping.

    Agreed on the centering.

+1, and on the Bradshaw the print dot in the 'E' was the first thing I noticed. Great cards, but I think they're all 3 accurately graded.

I would agree also on the Simpson and the Greene, though I could see the Bradshaw bumping.

Look how much is tucked under the right edge of the holder. I thought so initially as well.

It's certainly not 50-50, but if you look at top above the ridge, it's still better than either of the other two cards.

It's almost impossible to comment on reviews. We see PSA 8 60/40 cards and say NO because of centering.....60/40 is good enough for a 9. There is no exact rhyme or reason for bumps. I've done okay with reviews. I would say print and then corners are the toughest part of the review process in my limited experiences.
