Ebay Bucks have arrived, what did you get?

How much free $$ do you have to spend, and what have - are you going to buy?
I am working on a couple sets at the moment, where the cards are $10-$30 each, if I can find some that I need, that's where my $80.63 is going. Most of it was earned buying for these sets anyway.

I plan on picking up a couple early 80 boxes with mine... hopefully an 82 Fleer and 82 Donruss. But been focused more on Cubs stuff lately, so hope to have a little left over for a PSA/DNA auto or two... maybe a Ron Santo. I'll post back with pics if I get any of the aforementioned products.

I bought this CJ Hinojosa Team USA patch auto rookie card for my 11 year old son. CJ just finished his sophomore year at UT as the SS and helped lead my Longhorns to the final four in baseball this season.

    image

The neat part of the story is my son plays SS for the same select baseball team that CJ played for. Banditos Black in Houston/Tomball. Last week CJ showed up at practice unannounced and my son got to take this picture with him. I can't wait to get it in hand to give it to my son!

When we moved a couple of years ago, some of our boxes (smaller ones) were accidentally mistaken as trash for whatever reason. One of these boxes contained the life blood of one my favorite things that I owned as a kid....my NES power cord. So I used my $10 to buy a new power cord so I can introduce my kids to classic NES. My hope is in a few years we can stay up till 1, eating cool ranch Doritos, drinking Mt. Dew and playing Zelda. image

I just pulled the trigger on this:

    image

It's the last big one I needed in putting this set, limited to only 100 made, together.

BIN of $600 with BO. After my initial offer and a couple counteroffers, we finally agreed to "book value".

My eBay Bucks won't cover all of it, but they go a long way in making this a bargain in my view.

I finally got time to take a picture of my pickup. I have been very into rack packs of late, buying 80's rack boxes and 70's rack packs. I saw this one sitting with a very fair BIN and swooped in after my eBay Bucks went live for October. Nice centered cards with a HOFer in the middle. One of the underrated pitchers of all time. Along with Ryan and Seaver, defined pitching from the late 60's thru the early 80's.

Oh yeah, I also bought a 1988 FB Topps Cello from one of BBCE's auctions as well as a non BBCE 1987 Topps FB wax box that is going straight to Indiana for authentication. I still have a little left over so I am debating between another late 70's rack, a vintage graded card, or some raw cards to take flyers on for future submissions.
