It would be awesome if they did. Then perhaps they could slab my avatar coin / pattern as well
Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
Repeating my question 10 years later.
NOT the P-5360 you specifically asked about. But, a quick search revealed:
~ P-5340 (1964 Large Head) - PCGS #631717;
~ and P-5380 ((1965) Small Head) - PCGS #568803.
PCGS 'Pop Report' Reference (Search for "Paul");
HA Reference (Head Size Categories).
Could simply be that no one has submitted a P-5360 yet. Regardless, I have no idea if they currently accept your specific pattern. Perhaps a call to PCGS CS would get a definitive response.
cs will just read off the limitations
@MsMorrisine,
You piqued my curiosity, so I took the liberty of contacting PCGS CS myself.
The rep I interacted with is researching the question. FWIW, having the PCGS # for a comparable seemed to help.
When the rep responds to me via e-mail, I will share the response here.
@oreville,
I just noticed a potential issue. In the title of this thread, you ask about P-5360. However, in the OP you provide details for P-5350.
Are you interested in P-5360, or P-5350?
Both. The original heading of my OP was a typo. No one or myself noticed it for over 10 years! I finally CORRECTED it to P-5350.
But I have all the quarter sized experimental pieces.
What reminded me of my prior thread is my purchase just today of the 1965 Martha Washington pattern half dollar J -2132 pattern in PCGS/CAC MS-66. It has a rarity of R-8. Only two known. One other in PCGS/ CAC MS-67. I had been looking for it for 20 years. With a rarity of only two the grade is not as important to me.
The photo clearly shows the clashed die. Very cool in my view. Amazing how with an entire pop of 2 how the die could be clashed.
What about the Dime and Half Dollar sized Paul D. Merica pieces?
Presumably, most of the pieces were destroyed, so the surviving population provides no indication of the original mintage.
Actually the pop should be 3. I saw a NGC slabbed one at Heritage Auctions about 10 or more years ago but did not like it as much as the PCGS one I bought yesterday.
Congrats on acquiring a long term target, those are under appreciated.
