OT: So ticked!

I've been saving up for awhile to purchase a sound bar system for our home. Went to the store today. Bought the floor model of the one I really wanted because they had none left in stock and then they price matched Amazon. So I got a fantastic deal on the thing. Got it home and was stoked. Then when I went to set it up I realized for the first time that I don't have any audio out's on my TV nor do I have digital optical. WHAT?!!! How can a TV not have audio outs?

I'm keeping the soundbar because it's hooked up to my blu-ray, but I guess I'm going to have to save up for a new TV, unless anyone here has suggestions?

Ha! No, this time I made the mistake of purchasing a TV with no audio outs.

When did you buy it? It's got to be old right? Mine was from 1998 and just had the wrong style outs.

If it is that new it should have some way to project audio. Does it not have any type of RCA outs on it at all ? I know you can buy an HDMI switch that can run audio outs.

Does it happen to have something called TOSLINK on it ? I believe that can serve as an optical audio output.

If your TV runs to a cable or Xbox just run the speaker from that.

So, there are two HDMI's on there. I hooked up the bar to the blu-ray via digital optical. The only thing is that the bar isn't connected to the TV, but we don't watch much TV and if we do it's not at the sound level we would watch a movie. Plus we don't have cable so there's usually nothing on anyway and we end up watching a movie or Netflix. So it all worked out for the good.
