For all who rely on the plastic as opposed to the coin, I humbly submit some examples from my own growing personal collection for your perusal that could cause some reason for reflection image

    Well, I'm in Baltimore and I dropped a slab off at both NGC and PCGS because of Taisho year coins in the corresponding Showa year labeled slab. Same coin type, but getting the Emperor wrong does change the date a wee bit.

    I really like that eagle design on the medal.

    (Whoops- sorry- that's OT here, isn't it? In this case I guess we're actually supposed to be discussing the plastic!) image

    Mechanical and other errors on slab labels. Fun collecting idea. I never really thought of that.

    Here's a pair savoyspecial had last summer. You may have seen them.

    There are some other funny ones here.

    I remember seeing a SEGS slab that had the notation "Damaged by Fed Ex" on the label.
