Attended the Indy 500 in 1980 and 1981. Second year my brother worked for an auto racing team (he ran the computers) and we got the choice seats in the first turn.
I glanced down the long stretch to see similar seating in the final turn, realizing that at nearly 4000 feet away, they were watching the same event. It put the Big House in Ann Arbor in perspective as the 100,000 seats there is massive, but a fraction of the 300,000 plus that attend the Indy race.
Great experience for anyone that has an opportunity to attend.
