Mantle rookie experts out there?

Hello all. I have bought a larger group of nice vintage cards, the highlight of which is this Mantle rookie. I SHOULD be okay if it turns out a fake, as rest of cards will make up the difference and we negotiated an exchange of other cards if I find it to be fake, but I am sitting here chewing my fingernails off waiting for UPS on tues. Thought I'd put this pic out there and see reactions. Thanks!

I was thinking the same thing. Coloring just looks too cartoonishy, if there is such a word!!

+1. Hope it is just the scan.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

The corners look to sharp for the overall aged look of the card.

Aside from the garish tones and imagery, there are too many red flags to suggest that the card is legitimate...
<< <i>The first alarm anyone should look for with that card is skin tone. One wants to avoid what's known as Mick's 'sunburn' look on fakes. And as someone else said above, the borders are uncharacteristically beefy for the issue. That said, all this is going on a limb as I don't have the card in hand and it's not a high-res scan. I would manage expectations, and basically expect the worst so that any other outcome is gravy. And gravy is mad tasty. >>
This one looks like the sunburn effect??
