I believe that's some old fashioned eBay humor.

Well, I belong to a group on Facebook called Baseball Card Collectors and Trading~ Keep it real. The story i heard or read part of goes like this: This Guy sold this card (Intact) something like 4x's on eBay and each time the buyer of the card didn't pay for it. So by the 4th time he was so pissed off, he decided to rip the card in half and list it that way seeing if someone would buy it at that unreal price. Not sure if that is the true story, as I read it at 3am while lying half asleep in bed from my phone.

That's right, I have no life!

Paul, one of the moderators in your group is a straight-up psychopath. I was more than a little surprised to see the seller was located in Indiana. I would have bet a little money that the seller was from Georgia.

So now with only 4 left complete they are 1 of 4's? So the remaining intact pieces should increase in value? What a way to increase a value if there are say 3 of 3 and you own all 3. Destroy 2 of them and truly create a 1 of 1? Or would you profit more by owning/selling all 3? Or would the price still be reflective of the original printed number?

I couldn't agree more. I was a member of that group awhile back. I pointed out that one of the cards on there that the psychopath was touting was a fake. I thought he would have been thankful that I pointed out it was a fake so he could get his money back (he obviously had no clue and wouldn't know a fake card from a real card if it bit him in the butt). Dude instead went ballistic on me - it was insane. They booted me out, and I was indeed thankful, because that group is not right in the head.

I know it's his card and he can do with it as he wishes, but I think it's rather childish to destroy it because he is having trouble selling it.

It can be frustrating trying to get what you think a card "should" be worth, but ripping it up doesn't seem to be a good solution.

Sounded like best offer rage...we've all been there. Just never decided to destroy the item in question as retaliation

Instead, he should have just countered by taking a penny off the BIN price..

I'm so glad to see rational people being rational. Rationale is enlightenment and rational people know how to enjoy rationality despite the irrationality of the irrational.

Let me clear something here. I just joined this group of card collectors. I don't know any of them, and haven't spoken with any of them. It was ironic that this thread was here when I just read the post on Facebook. If they are really kookoo as koko puffs, then I will get out of Dodge.

Paul, you'll do just fine as long as you agree with everything Chuck Sitero has to say.

    Yes. Everything.

LOL...TNP777 and I never agree on anything. Until now. That Chuck Sitero person is loony tunes. Like he said, you will do fine as long as you agree with EVERYTHING that he says. Don't point out if there is a fake card being sold on there. Don't point out if he is ripping someone off, or is wrong about something. Just be a YES man with Mr Sitero and you will do fine in that group.
