Woo-Hoo! My first PSA 10... (Updated with Scans 6/26)

Well, my first self-subbed PSA 10 anyway. I joined the CC for the first time last June at the Long Beach Expo. After a 2 hour drive and spending the afternoon waiting in lines for autographs, my wife was tapping her foot and glaring at me as I sat at the PSA booth deciding what cards I would sub. So I was under the gun trying to figure out what cards I wanted to use my "free" subs on. I only ended up finding 13 cards that I brought with me that I wanted to sub so they let me have a voucher for the remaining two. I forgot about the voucher until the very last minute and sent off this submission postmarked one day before my year was up on my membership.

The sub logged 6/9 and I have been checking everyday this week hoping to see the results and today it finally popped. I am very excited with the results: 2 for 2 Gem Mint. Granted they are modern cards, but a 10 is a 10. The Flawless card was exactly that. I was pretty confident about that one pulling a 10 or at worse a 9. I am a newbie and I have no idea what they are looking for in modern cards, so the second card I thought could be a 10, but I didn't know for sure; and I thought a 9 or 8 could certainly be in the range of reasonable outcomes. Anyway, I know basketball is probably a distant third place on these boards, but that is my number one focus in collecting singles and sets. I recently started an Anthony Davis PSA 10 collection. And I am now a proud owner of two more (self-submitted) PSA 10's! That puts me up to 5 PSA 10 Auto RC's for him. I will post scans when I get these beauties backimage

2 1 23070330 GEM MINT 10 2012 Panini Marquee Rookie Signatures 2 Anthony Davis

Thanks for letting me share!

So that Pay-it-Forward stuff really works! You Paid it Forward to Dan (I saw the other thread) and right after that you received your first "10"! CONGRATS!
    STAY HEALTHY!

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

Thanks for the well-wishes everyone. Yes, Doug, I caught that too. The same day Dan put up his post, my 10's popped. Not why I did it, but it's funny how things turn outimage

Thanks again for the positive comments. PMKAY--I don't sub a lot, so chances are I will remember these as my first ones. If Davis lives up to his potential, I will especially remember the first one, as the first card listed in the sub was the Flawless Auto RC numbered out of 10. Both of them are listed as POP 1's, which is cool. Although any value to that is hypothetical only, as I have no plans to sell either of them.

As if my day couldn't get any better, I bought a couple of spots in a couple of modern case breaks tonight. I had swore off case breaks, since my last few basketball breaks have went horribly. But I figured maybe I'd give baseball a try. I am not really even a modern baseball collector but I figured if there was any good deals I would give it a shot. I ended up getting a good price on one slot in a 2014 Prizm half case break (the Twins). And a good deal on one slot in a 2014 4 box Bowman Jumbo break (the Astros). In the Prizm break, I got a Byron Buxton Auto. And in the Bowman Jumbo break I hit a Mark Appel Auto! 2 for 2 in breaks hits tonight, too!
