That card is impossible in a 10 and even a 9 is tough. I very much doubt that the scan in that auction is real or un-doctored.

The cards look pretty nice raw in the photo. Just seems like a buyer's gamble. If they all come back as 8's, selling them won't cover raw cost plus grading fees, but not a big loss and worth a shot to some. Just one 9 in the bunch and they could double their money. Add in another 8.5 or 9 and the potential is pretty good. Does make you wonder why the seller didn't sub them himself though. He's got several other 5-card lots in seemingly really nice shape too, so it looks like he may have picked up a few looking for the one best one and is dumping the rest that wouldn't make grade.

This seller has sat on tons of vending for years.

I wouldn't expect to get 9s or 10s. 8s maybe. Especially when listed as NM+. I won one group of 75s from him. They are nice cards but all had mini flaws. My guess is he's holding onto the MINT and GEM cards for either grading or for auctioning individually.

You don't have the ability to zoom in on any of his items in auction

  • I agree. I would suspect he lists everything that can't get a nine.

That is a tough card to find in high grade. It usually has some snow, or other print/color issues. I have graded 6 Rollie's recently, I got one 9, two 8's, and three 7's.

Here's mine from vending. Nice looking cards, but they would still only grade 7-8. The sellers (aarons) grade of NM to NM+ is probably accurate, but the color of those cards look a little too nice.

which leads me to think those could be doctored scans and not actual scans.

    Ungraded Fingers aren't that pricey
This result as others have said is due to the seller
I used to buy from him with mixed results on grading
I don't anymore, his auctions end too high
