    Well circulated.
I'm curious to find out where it was minted.

Well circulated, and/or well worn from being in the ground for 1,900 years!

According to Suarez (Encyclopedia of Roman Imperial Coins II), this piece was minted between 64-68 A.D. in Roma.

I just saw the episode with the Caligula denarius, I thought it looked questionable but clearly it was deemed authentic, hell of a coin

Don't know how accurate the article is, but if true its interesting that it was found in 4th century strata. Good quality gold I suppose and the condition indicates that it banged around for a long time.

Thanks for sharing the link. I find stories like this fascinating and they really get the "little grey cells" and imagination moving.
