it should have been jason kidd kobe or dirk or ben wallace. duncan only got the award because of things off the court for jason kidd he took that team from junk to great and dirk has got better every year since he came in and kobe what can i say he is great and the biggest choke artest in the playoffs other than kevin garnett no dis on kg is tim duncan he is not mvp material

    dirk OR wallace definately should NOT have gotten it.

    T-Mac or Kobe or Shaq would be my other choices (not in order)

    I would be willing to bet that Duncan had one of the best seasons, statistically, for a power forward of all time. Add that to the fact that the Spurs continued to succeed despite replacing 3 starters, and he's a great choice.

    I don't want to rip into you or anything, but Wallace would have been an absolute joke of a pick. I can see the Kidd arguments though, he deserved it judt as much as Duncan. It was a toss up.

    Duncan was the best choice for M.V.P. It's too bad the rest of the Spurs are a team of role players.
    They really stunk up the joint against L.A. again. That and the Lakers are the best TEAM out there
    right now.

    mvp= what people?

    Mvp wants the ball in his hands when the game is on the line. The mvp has to be selfish. The mvp demands the ball. The mvp leads his team to the title. The mvp is through 4 quarters of basketball.

    Duncan might of been mvp of the regular season, but exactly what do shaq and kobe have to prove coming off two titles? The motivation factor comes into play. I really hope the kings sweep l.a so kobe and shaq have some motivation left after all this.

    Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but at least back it up with correct facts and statistics. There is a reason Tim won the IBM Player of the Year and MVP. To say he is a joke shows either lack of knowledge or just plain immaturity, or both. I take it you just don't like Tim, but at least have a little respect for his game. I am not necessarily a Kidd fan, but if he would have won I would have had the courtesy to give the man his due. The MVP is based on the regular seasons performance, not the playoffs. I would like to see how well you could have done if you just lost your father 2 weeks ago. I am sorry to get upset, but I am duncangal for a reason, lol.     Its always funny when "fans" seem to know more than the "experts" that choose the MVP as well as other awards. IF you compare the stats... Duncan was up there for most of them...higher than the rest on average. He was a leader of his team and had a great year. Kobe, Dirk, Shaq all had great seasons... but Duncan statistically was better.
    Just my thoughts :-)

    Lol, this is just like a poiltical election one sides happy the other feels wronged...Personally I think kidd deserved it more...And interestingly so do most others check the polls on AOL and NBA.com and any other basketball sites that carry a poll on this topic in 99.9% kidd carries a 4,000 to 5,000 point lead over Duncan......on the AOL poll last time I cheked Kidd carried 58% of the vote Duncan 18% Shaq 4% and others like Kobe,AI etc. etc. all around 1%..

    But nonetheless Duncan won it's over and theres next year to think about...Unless of course the Nets and Kidd fans pull an Al Gore and demand a recount..They should inspect the ballots for hanging chads..image
