1788 Massachusetts Half Cent, Ryder 2-B, PCGS VF20.....$675

A remarkably nice example of the type with fantastic color, smooth surfaces, and no problems other than a few natural planchet streaks on the obverse. Far above average - see the three VF20 examples from the Newman sale for what typical VF quality is for the issue.

1795 Liberty Cap Half Cent, Plain Edge, No Pole, C-6a, PCGS G04, struck on TAL Cent.....$575

Strong undertype from the cut down Talbot Allum & Lee Cent shows at 10 o'clock on the obverse. Date nearly full, clearer than the photo shows. A tough coin to find so problem-free in this grade, there are just 6 G04's at PCGS and no recent auction appearances.

1801 Draped Bust Large Cent, S-213, R.3, PCGS F12.....$450

One of my favorite die varieties of the date, marked by strong parallel die cracks before Liberty's forehead. Also, LIBERTY shows up strongly clashed on the reverse. A tough date and die variety to locate in decent mid-grade.

1803 Draped Bust Large Cent, Small Date & Fraction, S-251, PCGS VF30.....$650

A pleasing mid-grade cent with glossy brown surfaces, strong detail, and just few tiny obverse nicks.

1822 Coronet Head Large Cent, N-4, PCGS VF35.....$265

Choice, original, and preferable to many coins in XF holders, in our opinion.

1834 Coronet Head Large Cent, Large 8, Stars, and Letters, N-6, R.3, PCGS F12.....$375

A tough variety and in strong demand as a Red Book and Dansco album variety. Original brown surfaces and with a healthy dose of dirt. Seldom seen in problem-free mid-grade and in fact, this is the only Fine (12 or 15) at PCGS currently.

1846 Braided Hair Large Cent, Tall Date, N-14, R.3, PCGS AU55.....$750

A fantastic coin with rich brown color and pristine surfaces. Just the slightest rub on the very high points and we feel it's easily deserving of a slightly higher grade. The Tall Date variety is difficult to find in AU and higher, especially as choice as this. Ex. Reiver (privately) - Borcherdt.

1849 Braided Hair Large Cent, N-17, R.3, PCGS AU55.....$225

Choice, slightly reddish golden-brown surfaces with good gloss, a sharp strike, and minimal marks. A moderately scarce die variety.

1835 Capped Bust Dime, JR-4, PCGS VF25.....SOLD

Not the highest grade dime, but with very wholesome, perfectly toned surfaces. A keeper.

And finally...a crusty pair of 20th century type coins that, to the best of my knowledge, sat around together for 80 or so years before they were sent to PCGS and received the rather strict grade of VF35 (they both look choice XF to me). Original, dirty, subtly lustrous, and uniformly toned - a neat pair, and I'm not even that into modern coins image .....$125 for the pair.
