Wow, you got Gaylord Perry to do a spot for you. Nice!
  • That would be because of Youtube (automatically leads to others). I am looking into getting that fixed.

  • No reason in particular. BCS is a new venture, am I not allowed to move on from an old website, or an old handle?

My credentials speak for themselves. There is only a red flag if you choose to see one.

I am having trouble identifying the issue here...?

On a side note, I really look forward to that 75 Set in straight 9 that I am purchasing off the boards. Thanks Smokie!

<< <i>This is Sean Bassik from Sean Bassik Cards, folks. Sean1125 on the boards.

Any reason why you wouldn't go by your normal handle or your normal website, Sean?

Also, who are you using now to consign these sets you're supposedly buying? Seems your website no longer trumpets your association with Greg Morris. >>

I personally don't get the reason for this rather snide besmirching of a solid buyer/seller. Feels kind of bush league to me. For what it's worth, I can definitely provide some testimonial/facts about Biggmacc/Sean, since I hate to see good peeps get slighted and potentially have their businesses undermined without very good reason.

I know both Sean and Greg; they are super nice guys from whom I'd be comfortable buying or selling any piece. I have done several deals of decent value (10-20k) with Sean in particular; immediate payment by bank wire, constant and articulate communication, solid packaging and delivery. Also, for his clients, he is willing to give hours and hours of advice when it comes to strategizing a price or a bid for any card at any auction or evaluating a piece, pretty much anything card related. People's time is their money and he is quite generous in this regard. As we all know, a good sounding board is valuable in our hobby.

I fail to see how the fact he and Greg might not be partnering on every deal or the fact that he is going into business for himself are pejorative things, as is clearly intimated. Rebranding and launching new ventures happen all the time in business. Pretty much everyone on these boards goes by an alias, so I don't see how that is grist for anything.

I think in general, especially when aiming questions at another man's business, the proper etiquette and responsible route would be to inquire via private avenues before adopting any public tone that could be misread as negative.

Cris, there is no smoke here (except the smoke coming out from your ears).

Sean is a decent guy and has always been a straight shooter. As I recall Sean's original username on the forum was banned by the moderator, as many have been banned for posting something that was deemed to be a breach of the rules (I dont recall what it was, and I will not express any
opinion regarding whether it was appropriate/inappropriate to ban Sean for it).

What matters is that you are trying to drag through the mud someone who does not deserve it.

Good luck with the purchasing Sean. Hope to see you at National.

  • << <i>Sorry Sean, if you were slighted or offended by my comments? To be clear, I have not had any dealings with Sean. Hopefully you view my comments as constructive and consider when making future sites / upgrades. I might not be the only person that appreciates full disclosure / transparency, when big money is involved. It seems odd that names and contact data are required for sellers on the site but not for the buyer advertising ''$$Millions Available$$''. I assume you typically do not pay first, before receiving items...maybe I am mistaken? It also struck me as unusual how often the usernames / websites changed and referring to yourself in the 3rd person as a good dealer on your website (''There are also sites like Deans Cards, Sean Bassik Cards and BaseballCardBuyer that buy vintage cards at reasonable prices.'') and you were not even listed first image When I realized your previous ID was one of only a handful of IDs that were on my username block, I posted. It is good to learn that other people enjoyed positive experiences. Keep it up! >>

    I don't get offended.

My web guy runs my website, I do not populate the content of it.

I wasn't aware this was an alt of a banned member when I posted defending him. As much as I don't want to agree with Criss, I researched it and was troubled by what I found. I'm deleting my previous comment.

I find the term "I PAY MORE" a little misleading when someone obviously DOES NOT pay more. There is a card shop out of Kansas who some people might know on here that post its' BUY prices in blank and white for everyone to see. They put out a monthly catalog, that has what they pay for cards and sets in the back. If they can't beat their prices, then they don't pay more - plain and simple.

I purchase high grade RAW cards. They purchase PSA graded cards. We buy from two different markets.

I would love to hear what you found so I can address it. Is it recent or from years ago? I did have issues in 2011, I can chalk it up to inexperience and life problems, I quickly corrected them and have made a rather quality name for myself. I would assume Criss is Barry, as there are very few people who have it out for me (that I know of).

    If you ask the questions:

    Have my funds every bounced?

    or

Has someone ever not received a card they purchased?

You will find the answers are a firm "no" to both.

I don't want a conflict, I'm trying to just quietly delete my previous comments and back away. Your actions may have been in the past, but I've been pretty consistent in complaining about banned members who come back under a different alias. If I were to defend you, that would be hypocrisy. I'm just trying to wash my hands of it all.
  • Do some research and decide for yourselves. I, too ,remember the name.

Excuse me? How did I make it into this conversation?

First, I am NOT CrissCriss nor do I have an alt.

Second, have it "out for you"? Ummm no. While I did expose some shady things going on with you, because of that, it was YOU who had it out for me threatening me and stalking family and friends on my facebook.

Not only that, but your silly threats of sueing me.

Just like what I told you on Net54, I have no interest in dealing with you in any way, shape, or form. So with that, I wouldnt even make an alt to stir the pot because I want NOTHING to do with you. I dont know nor do I care if you have changed or had issues in the past or currently.

If I have something to say about you, I have NO problem saying it with this ID and I would have thought you knew that about me already. Ive done it before, why would I change that now?

Now go crawl back under your rock.

    +1.

The good news is that given Sean called out Barry, thus inviting him to post to this thread, you all have a little less research to do as Barry sums up Sean circa 2011 quite well.

    Has he changed? Maybe.

But him even calling out Barry in some hidden hand conspiracy and hiding the fact he is Sean1125 from the boards makes me think maybe not... especially when a deal inevitably goes south.

Sean, I think most people believe in second chances. I've seen some members come back, own up their mistakes, and in a very short time be welcomed by the community again. The path you've chosen is a much harder one, but good luck to you... the fact that your recent dealings on here to date seem to have been smooth should count for something. But, like I said, the smooth deals aren't what got you into trouble before. Only time will tell.

I did the hard work in past years. You may hear of some negative actions years ago, but I was a kid and those actions should be treated as such. Everyone has quarrels, some people choose to publicize them.

I will refer to my earlier post:

    or

Has someone ever not received a card they purchased?

You will find the answers are a firm "no" to both.

Barry is one of the classier guys here. He's a great board member and an even better guy in "real life". We have hung out many times at card shows here and there.

Sean was one of the better forum members. Do not judge him because he was banned a while back, he is a very trusted dealer.

I don't care for alts, but I'm fairly certain Sean has kept his forum activity to the BST section. I have no problem with that.

Good job CrissCriss for pointing out the obvious. There are several honest dealers who have been banned from CU over the years trying to make a living. We're lucky to have such a diligent forum member like yourself who exposes these honest dealers just to cause trouble. image

If an honest member of our community is trying to conduct his business with a certain degree of privacy (for obvious reasons), he should be able to do so without harassment.
