Opinions on how to sell raw sets with key graded stars?

My raw 67 set has a nice psa 7.5 Seaver and psa 7 Carew in it. My 68 raw has a nice psa 8 ryan. Do I
A. Sell the set as it is with stars?
B. Pull stars, sell separately from set and then sell set incomplete?
C. Pull stars, sell separately from set and replace the graded stars with lower grade raw so it is at least complete? Thanks!

  • Might not be the answer you are looking for, but the smart move may be to grade some more of the studs if they truly are in high grade condition. Otherwise, people would more than likely bid the set closer to Ex-Mt+ condition.

I think I'd go with option C unless you wanted to take the time to sell each card individually.

The raw cards in both sets probably average ex - mt.

If the sets are EX-MT and there are 1-2 stars graded higher, I would pull and sell the stars, and sell the sets as complete, missing only Ryan etc.

If you're not selling the set yourself and plan to consign it to a reseller on eBay, I would send all the raw cards to Greg Morris and let him part it out. You'll maximize the return on your raw cards this way.

i would sell as a set with the graded stars - and if you could add a few more of the studs/HOFers in graded i think you'd do better

    raw sets are tough
