Unopened packs - does it matter if it's off season?

What is the best strategy for selling unopened material? If you had unopened football, would you wait until the season starts or sell now?
I'm building a 1968 and a 1970 Topps set. I have lots of 1970s and 1960s to offer in trade.

I sold vintage baseball in the off-season and I wish I hadn't. I would wait or at least set your own price. If it doesn't sell, don't stress on it and just wait.

Depends on the product and how badly you want to sell. I generally like to sell things in season. I do think it is natural for higher prices to generally be realized with in season sales. Of course A 1981 Topps wax box (BBCE wrapped) just closed at $1325. So you never know.

I think "in season" means more for individiule(sp) cards than unopened. Im guilty of shopping for cards during the "on" season
but unopened is fair game during any season. Thats just my $.02

We are talking specifically about mid 1970s football.

I don't sell unopened, but generally speaking with what you have, I'd wait until at least preseason unless you must sell now.

I don't think you will have a problem getting top dollar for mid 70s football no matter what time of year you are looking to sell.
I'd wait until after the National.

You should wait till the season for whatever sport you are trying to move. People tend to get excited and buy especially if their favorite teams or players are doing well.
