My search for my first Local Card Shop...

Back in the 80's my favorite LCS was just a few minutes from where I lived. The guy who owned the place was old, fat, and not very nice...but it's all we kids had other than the gas stations to get cards and comics. We would ride our bikes down there to his shop, break open packs, and trade the stars in for other star cards we would want. Lots of Bo Jackson and Canseco rookies went across his countertop.
This past weekend I went back to my home town and thought it might be great to see if I could find his shop and see if it was still open. I had a meeting with a consultant for my job that I was going to meet in the same part of town that the shop was in. I drove around and couldn't find it. It had been so long that I forgot where it was. I couldn't find it and just decided not to keep looking because I had a meeting I had to prepare for.
I sat down in the coffee shop to meet with the consultant. While I was waiting for him, sipping on my espresso, I turned to the left and looked back in the store room only to see this...
THE ORIGINAL SHOP SIGN!!!! So I asked the barista where they got that and he said, "Well, you're sitting in the old shop." I couldn't believe it! I had found the old shop. Now a coffee shop, but so glad they preserved the sign. How awesome is that?! Just had to share.

Well if you resembled a potato, you most likely wouldn't be nice neither lol

My old card shop was The Time Capsule. Still there, however, they deal mainly with role playing cards like Magic.
One of my dad's old pet shops is a Starbucks. Still kinda smells like a pet store, too

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

I asked and they said it wasn't for sale. So I left my info in case they change their mind. I'd love to hang that in my garage.
