The Tull Collection

I'm watching the Pirates broadcast today and they showed a game worn Babe Ruth Jersey from 1920. It was in Clint Hurdle's office. They mentioned it belonged to Thomas Tull who is part owner of the Steelers and friends with Hurdle and McCutchen. He had it displayed at the HOF or a museum and was transferring it to LA where he stores his uniforms. The players were all looking at the uniform and tweeting out pictures. They mentioned how he owns a lot of memorabilia including Maz uniform and bat from the 1960 series. They didn't mention his graded card collection.

I did a couple projects for Tull and his company, and I remember when we first sat for lunch several years ago we got around to discussing baseball cards-- at that time he said he would one day get himself a 1952 Topps Mantle. He definitely wound up grabbing that one and then some!

It's the title of a Jethro Tull song, but it's also an appropriate song for a collector of vintage memorabilia.

That's a pretty spot on reference, sir! I never knew the name of that song until now. Heard it so many times and could name the artist but the title escaped me. I had an inkling that was it from that post.
