Joe Montana PSA 10 on eBay

Was curious to see what a psa 10 Montana would bring in an eBay auction. I knew VCP was artificially low since they don't record Heritage auctions. The last Montana in Heritage closed at $11.3k and last couple on eBay were fake flips so didn't get true action. This time it's different as PWCC has a real one up.

I've been thinking it's just a matter of time for football to explode like the key rookie 70s and 80s baseball psa 10s have.

Looking forward to seeing final hammer on this one.
And no, it's not mine. Lol

The centering on the back looks to be pushing the limit. Still an incredible looking card though.

    10K already

  • That one looks pretty nice on the front. Definitely a high price.
  • That card is a beauty. I can always live with the back not being perfect as long as the front looks great (such as the case with this one).

Yup. Just don't turn it over lol
  • that back would make the card go in the 'possibly send in' pile that never gets touched again learn something new here everyday if having a back like that still can be 10 worthy

I've learned instead of raging against the darkness to turn up the light.

It used to bother me......the grading circus.

However, I've learned to just play along and try I make a few bucks here and there.

I just subbed a $1500.00 John Wall NT RPA rookie patch auto that was a bgs 8.

Cracked it and came back a 9 with every single subgrade different that last time.

It makes no sense, so why try to make sense out of it?

    SMR 1981 Topps

It is always interesting to see where these are listed at in the SMR. Growing up reading price guides you would look at the high number and wonder who was getting that for the card.

I have to think this card moves up in the guide soon. In the liner notes the last listed sale was $11,353 and this one is already surpassed that price with time to go.

PSA takes a conservative approach with the guide but this is example where an adjustment needs to be made.

  • this one from PWCC was really nice. Soon after, another one goes up for same price PWCC one closed at, though I'm not sure how this is a 10 with that centering and what appear to be print flaws on the front. I can't imagine this would earn the kind of premium the last one got.

    Huh?

This is one one of the weakest 10's I've ever seen........top / bottom centering is awful.

    +1
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

The case appears to have frosting, but against the white background, it is hard for me to tell.

For THAT amount of $, the back can't be THAT far off. Plus the front isn't even dead on.
