Always my favorite Cubs manager. The "Boys of Zimmer". One time he put a relief pitcher in the outfield of an extra inning game, to move him back to pitch again the next inning.

That sucks. Whenever I think of him I automatically think of when Pedro face planted him at Fenway. I never cared for Pedro after that.

That's a cool photo. Red Schoendienst of the Cardinals reminds me of him. Red's another guy who's been in baseball seemingly forever. I just looked it up and Red is 91 years old, been in baseball for 69 straight years.

Sad to see the passing of Mr. Zimmer. Unbelievable how long he was involved in the game. Lucky enough to get this moment in Bradenton Florida during spring training one year. Zimmer saw a friend in the stands before a game, called out Yogi from the dugout and everyone went nuts. It was the only time Yogi came out of the dugout. Very cool moment. Don Zimmer will be missed. I remember how Derek Jeter rub his head to give him some luck. 3000+ Hits later future HOF. Jeter will miss him.
I wonder if the HOF elect Umpire & announcer etc... for just working for long time. I wonder if Zimmer will at least get a chance to be on the ballot?
