Won this last night. No idea what the VCP is. Matters not. Wanted it, won it.

lack of creases helps it out a ton from eye appeal obviously.

Here is mine, picked up at the National. A little paper loss in the "E" in Babe.
<< <i>Tremendous eye appeal for the grade; definitely captures the spirit of the mantra in the thread title, for me. Great find, brother. >>
+1. CONGRATS ERIC!

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
Pretty much my whole collecting philosophy is low grade/eye appeal. I sleep well knowing that whoever's doing the grading, be it next year or next decade, the cards'll basically stay the same grade. One guy's 10 might be another's 9, but a lowly 1 is usually a 1 everywhere, LOL. I stare at these few ultra-low grade favorites periodically each day. The grades on these don't even all add up to the "10" on a GEM MT holder The Leroy is the roughest of the bunch, but as one gets to know that card, the centering and focus gets deeply appreciated.

<< <i>Low grade high appeal cards are gems.
Awesome cards Matt >>
Thanks, fellas.
That Cobb is tremendous. Just tremendous. It just pops. If I spent a ton more on a higher graded one and then saw that one, I would face palm myself into a coma.

This Cobb is a beauty.
Matt, some amazing pick ups.
Worth a bump try?

<< <i>BLAZER Dan!
Worth a bump try? >>
Tried once as it is definitely undergraded--much nicer than almost any 8 I've ever seen. Thought it was a lock. No dice. May crack it or may just enjoy it in holder as is--haven't decided for sure.

Sorry for the IPhone pictures. It looks better in person.

Although a little premature as I haven't finished other projects, I kicked off my 53 topps endeavor with this little gem...
for my 1956 set...

stupid print dots
If I sent in 100 Mantle, Mays and Aarons PSA 7 and above on review....I would probably get 10 bumps. If I broke those same cards out, I would probably get 20 EOT's with some higher and lower grades.
My two favorite cards. The 3.5 is crease free and back damage free, but it has a tiny chip in the bottom left boarder.
That 1933 Goudey Ruth is amazing!! That is one heck of a card! WOOW
