Ten Years After

For those that don't know me very well, I'm the Brett Butler guy. And the guy that collects ratty old Dodgers. Use to be pretty active with the Heritage gang. Usually don't have anything worth a darn to say.
Today makes 10 years since I joined CU. I have enjoyed myself immensely. I have made some pretty darn good friends here, most through online communication, but some in person, too. I'd make a list of the swell guys (it's a long one, and unfortunately some are no longer here), but you know who you are. 'Sides, I don't want to hurt Lee's feelings when he sees he didn't make the cut. Hi, Lee!
I've seen a ton of great moments, too many not so great ones, had a LOT of laughs, posted a lot of sketchy Santa pics, been embroiled in my share of keyboard skirmishes, sometimes played peacemaker, quested for an Oates (bbg, you're #11), been thumped with the bamhammer, saw Rush with a close friend, saw amazing displays of compassion and generosity, saw stunning collections, celebrated, grieved...
It's been a pleasure being part of this place. Thanks to the long-time guys for putting up with some of my shenanigans, and thanks for the encouragement many of you have given me.

You have been a valuable member that has lasted through a lot of drama on the boards, congratulations is warranted for that alone. As you know a lot of other valuable members here have come and gone.
I personally hope you are around for much longer, as reiterated above you are one of the "good guys".
Edited to add: Geordie, do you remember the topic or thread of your first post? Here's the one I first popped up in:

You're a good guy Geordie.

Bob, I'm having trouble with the search feature here, but I messed around with the Wayback Machine. The earliest post I can find is from the 2005 Heritage thread. In February of '05 I had a whopping 35 posts, so I wasn't a prodigious poster in my first 8 months. I think Rube had that many posts within his first 5 minutes when he joined up.

Congrats on the anniversary Geordie!!
Are you the one BBG tried to jack over the for 78 Oates??? .... Edited to add: Disregard this Geordie. It is covered in your initial post.
Thanks,

You've always been the same to me , and the good you do in your own life , is easily mirrored here on these boards .
Hope you're here for many more----- Sonny
Congrats on your decade!!! You're one of the best!

Phil wasn't even close to the truth. The rarest item that has ever come up was this little gem:
I've been using my chocolate Lab, Angie, as my avatar for most of my time here, but in '05 I was rocking Puddles:

<< <i>Geordie , I'd love to see the " bad " list of the infamous ones , that you've spent time with , here on these boards .

Hi, Sonny. There have definitely been lots of guys that made themselves memorable for all the wrong reasons. Most of those I never had any real direct contact with, although I'm sure I helped pile on when things were coming to a head for many of them. There were very few that I really disliked, but I'm not gonna name names. I think most anyone that has been around a while has the same dudes at the top of their list, too.
Before the "Forum Rules" ruled, things were a bit more fast & loose - I kinda miss those days. It was a bit livelier then, and many of the good guys were still around.

Glad you're still here after all these years and that you continue to enjoy adding to the Butler collection. Definitely one of the good guys of the board even if you do have an unhealthy obsession with Santa, Rush, and the McCourts.
Where do I send the lifesize, tin Brett Butler sculpture I so painstakingly put together?
10 years is tin I think lol!

Funny the way we find friends.
Edited to add: How could I NOT post the above ... when do you ever see the words Geordie and Heritage on the same poster! LOL

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
