If you charge actual shipping, your loosing 10% on the shipping........

That has been a contention of mine because you are not supposed to make a profit on actual postal cost. like if you are to sell stamps for actual postage use it should be at face value.

This was done to keep sellers from selling, for example, a $100 value item for a 1 cent buy it now with $99.99 shipping to avoid paying final value fees.

EBAY prefers free shipping.

It's been that way for quite some time now. It's because folks would try to get out of fees with ridiculous shipping fees. It all even's out if you use ebay to print shipping labels as the cost is well below what you would have to pay at your local post office.

I remember hearing this a long ways back but only do free shipping on the rare occasion I sell there.

This has been going on for a while. What I am waiting for next is PayPal to charge a fee on the sales tax they collect. I am sure if that was not illegal they would.
