My work week left a lot to be desired, but my package week was sensational. So instead of bloviating about unopened, I figured I'd, you know, actually show some. I have really grown to love the Canadian counterparts over the course of time, and my personal opinion is that OPC is laying in the weeds like a venomous snake; it might be relatively inconspicuous now, but at some point we're all going to find out what time it is. The "fundamentals" simply do not call for such a disparity between Topps & OPC, thus I fully expect a significant delta in coming years. But then again, I called someone a sucker for being a buyer @ $800 in my 'My beloved 1980 Topps' thread months ago, so what the hell do I know?
Without further ado:
1980 OPC wax pack rack -- anyone who knows me will tell you that I have a serious affinity for anything 1980, and these quatro wax rackers are no different. Inherently cool & exceedingly difficult to find nowadays. An eBay seller I have a solid working relationship with contacted me about a week ago, and I was asking for his PayPal info within seconds.
1979 OPC wax boxes -- the one on the left is an eBay success story. I posed two questions to the seller, and after reading his responses I was prepared to wager a large sum on its legitimacy. Sure enough, Steve confirmed it a few days later. The one on the right comes from Jeff (Big80s), one of the nicest dudes to ever grace these boards. The moment I saw his on eBay, I contacted him. He promptly responded. He pulled it. He wiggled on my behalf. He made certain that I was 1,000% satisfied. Does it get any better? I think not.
1977 OPC wax packs -- like I'm going to have the box on the left travel in solitude to Texas? The description on website de BBCE reads "minty fresh," or something to that effect. That's an understatement, yo. They're pristine packs. I'd recommend buying one or more before they go poof, but just know that 10 are now spoken for because I ordered six more in a subsequent order.
I hate creating threads that are all about what I have, so please inundate this one with more Canadian goodness, for crying out loud. '78, anyone? Or perhaps someone can really piss me off and flash an '80 box?
Have the best of weekends, all!
