<< <i>John Bu, 38, a customer service supervisor at a mail processing and distribution center in East New York, purchased cards he knew where hot from an underling, who he knew had previously been arrested for stealing items from the mail, prosecutors alleged. >>
The story makes no sense. What I am getting is he paid $7000 for some cards. Then he sold the cards, receiving $6250? On top of that he faces possible jail time, and possible loss of job.

<< <i>Cubby-- I guess the part you missed was that he knew he was dealing in stolen goods. Buying and selling goods you know to be stolen is a crime. >>
I think he got that, but was trying to figure out who buying stolen goods and selling them at a loss males sense.
The answer is that the scumbag wasn't selling at a loss, and that the $6250 was for only some of the stolen cards.
