1973 is probably the toughest year to find cards centered front AND back. Some I don't think exist (e.g., #1 HR All Time HR Leaders)

1973 and 1979 are extremely tough

All of those years had quality control issues. I would say that 2--25% of my 75's and 76's have major centering issues. And even ones that have decent front centering can have card backs from two differnet players. I agree, 79's are bad too.

Baseball cards from that year are literally impossible to find centered.

If we're talking the 1970's, it would have to be 1979. Topps really choked that year. Paper stock, boring design, and the horrible centering. But it has made Ozzie smiths rc one of the most coveted cards in the hobby if it's mint

1975 minis are horrible too. Not only centering, but tilts everywhere.

I have found '76 to be pretty brutal as far as centering goes.

I would say 1973 also I find the 71's really tuff also.

1966 topps is very hard that year had major tilt problem and cards are always off center
