All of those years had quality control issues. I would say that 2--25% of my 75's and 76's have major centering issues. And even ones that have decent front centering can have card backs from two differnet players. I agree, 79's are bad too.

If we're talking the 1970's, it would have to be 1979. Topps really choked that year. Paper stock, boring design, and the horrible centering. But it has made Ozzie smiths rc one of the most coveted cards in the hobby if it's mint

I have found '76 to be pretty brutal as far as centering goes.
