Hosting a refugeeand his surprising interest in my hobby
As of last Friday, I am host to a Christian from Iraq. He was the interpreter for my son-in-laws MIT team in Iraq in 2008. I am delighted by the education that has been handed to me by this union. He is well educated, speaks 4 languages, and is overly thankful for the opportunity that has been afforded him. What does this have to do with coins? Of my vast and diverse collection of coins, what was most interesting to him was my collection of Confederate currency. However, after listening to and digesting his life experiences, it made sense.

Imagine for a moment, actually being a refugee and needing outside help for basic necessities. The majority of us here on the boards lead charmed lives by the standards of the world.
..... and thank your son-in-law for me for his service.
<< <i>Okay, I will appease the naysayers. I am not a Christian, nor am I African-American. A Christian living in a Muslim country could not safely travel outside of his village in traditional dress. Confederate currency represented the freedom to dress and be who you are, reguardless of religion, color ectl.

You are such a hero. Watch out...the bad guys could track your location through your IP address when you make these posts and come and get you...Christians are so persecuted. Man you are really making the world a better place.

I am not sure how to take this post. Over the Internet it sure seems condescending.
I hope I am wrong.
To the OP I hope you can enjoy your time with your guest and thanks to your son for his service
