EID MAR overstrike on a large, broad flan with eagle undertype?
Found this apparent EID MAR coin in my pocket change- um, an uncleaned lot on eBay, um... some stuff.
It's on a large, exceptionally broad flan, and a lot of the undertype appears to be visible.
It's vaguely familiar, somehow, but I can't quite put my finger on the reason why.
I see an eagle there- perhaps the host coin was a silver shekel?
The centering is superb, but the lettering on the EID MAR strike is a bit primitive.
Could it also be a barbarous imitation?
