I stopped by Christies NYC today, just for kicks, and was pleasantly surprised to see that Norman Rockwell's "The Collector" is coming up for auction.

As a teenager, I had one of the Franklin Mint's cheap copies on my bedroom wall. Brings back fond memories!

My daughter-in-law's (#2 son's wife) sister is dating Norman Rockwell's grandson. Hey, maybe I have an in. I might suggest that for a Father's Day present.

I have one of the Franklin Mint copies framed and hanging in my home office. Saw it in an antique mall and commented that I would like to have it. Nine or ten months later at Christmas I was surprised to see it under the tree. I had forgotten all about it.
