Moisture Issue / Question

I keep my coins in a bank SDB. In the SDB drawer I have been keeping a liberal amount of silica desiccant to absorb moisture. Problem is I have to replace / re-gen the silica desiccants every 3-4 weeks. The bank must keep a fairly decent humidity level in the vault and I guess I am trying to "absorb it all". I was going to put my display boxes into a large zip lock bag with a desiccant bag inside. I have read that current zip lock bags (Johnson zip lock or Glad zip lock) do not contain any PVC. Keep in mind the coins are in slabs, inside a wooden display box, and then that is going into a large zip lock bag with a generous desiccant pack inside.

Any concerns? Thanks!

Coins is slabs in wood in a ziploc bag in an SDB = very bad idea. You SBD may have RH set for paper.

There are many angles on storage. I am NOT an expert, but one take I personally agree with is that silica will pull moisture into a space in it's quest to absorb it. So the
best thing to do is to make the space resistant to air flow and then silica will not be needed. This is one reason I like the Intercept Shield double protection boxes. A box
within a box, both closing relatively snug. Air is not going to flow through and when it's closed, how much humidity is trapped in there? It must be close to zero. Unfortunately
the boxes are not currently in production but are supposed to make a comeback.

Obviously, the wood. Is it wood? The ones I just looked at were. I'd not store coins in those, but then I am lost on storing a display box in a safe. You might add a sacrificial anode to your SDB or storage systems.

Thanks for the suggestions. I do like the idea of a sacrificial anode. I am thinking of a couple of bright pennies (polished with steel wool) or maybe a cheap copper bar (again polished).
