overgraded cards on ebay

seems ebay is a sea of overgraded garbage or cards that are week for the given grade like pre 1985 cards graded 9 or 10 or prewar cards graded 5 or higher basicly have no eye appeal for the grade. I have been looking or a nice PSA 10 topps or PSA 9 opc gwynn rookie and the ones on ebay are all off center or tilted like the last one in PWCC auction or the ones that look nice have crapy scans that are hiding some sort of flaw probably.

Grading guidelines don't give nearly enough weight to centering and eye appeal, IMO; best move is to shop within multiple grades and buy the card you think looks best.

centered items, especially vintage go for extreme premiums. The pop report matters too. An eight for a particularly tough card might be a 7 for another item that is easier to find in that condition. There are number of reasons why a grade receives that grade.

I hear ya , I started buying psa 1's as I'll never be disappointed and be able to complain that a card is overgraded.

I've noticed the same trend over the last 5 years or so on eBay.

More of the higher quality stuff is going to auction houses, or staying in strong collections.

I notice this as well. I think it's a product of weak examples that nobody wants gets flopped over and over. The strong examples get locked away in collections for years while the weak examples are held only until a better one can be found, resulting in the weak example getting flipped again.

I have heard that OPC cards are given some extra consideration because of general poor quality control.
