The Sac That "Shouldn't Be" (PCGS-MS67)

The regulars will recall a recent thread where I suggested Goodacre MS69 coins could, in theory, pass as regular issue MS69 coins imho. It was suggested that possibility was remote, as the coins basically look nothing alike. Now, for my "exhibit "A" image

I have a handful of 2000(p) Sacs in PCGS-MS67 HOLDERS that look like the "Goodacre" pieces (deep prooflike surfaces that look "burnished"). If you could care less about the "plastic", there is probably no need to pay $500 for a Goodacre pedigreed coin in MS67, as this coin looks just like it at tiny fraction of he price!! My price is $60/coin with free shipping anywhere in the US. And, if Supercoin wants to buy one and will agree to scan the coin for the forum to see, he gets a special price of $50 image And, anyone that purchases a coin and does not agree that the coin could pass for a "Goodacre" just return it (regular insured mail) for a complete refund and I'll pay postage both ways. While supplies last. Who want the "Sac that Shouldn't Be"? image Wondercoin.

I don't want to rekindle the controversery. I'm just wondering if the jury has come back. Is it now known for certain that the Goodacre pieces did have special planchet preparation?

dpoole: My posts were never intended to prove anything the mint did or did not do. The point of my posts was, and still is, that it is VERY POSSIBLE to confuse the Goodacres with nonGoodacres imho image Wondercoin.

It was my understanding from reading the articles from CoinWorld the US Mint was enjoined or the defendant in a lawsuit and had to finally admit that there was a burnishing down, likely over was normal for the coin. Anyone remember the specifics?

When Glenna first starting selling the coins at the ANA convention in Phili, I was there and spent quite a bit of time with Daniel Anthony her manager...because of my being in the right place at the right time and understanding what the importance of what the mint had done in making these 5,000 special coins....I was the original dealer to sell many of these coins...I was the very first dealer on ebay with them and set the records on selling them anywhere from $800 to $1100 dollars..., I was the guy who also started all the hoopla with the autographs...all I can say is that they were done differently ...no matter what you have heard, the mint did do something special with them....since I am writing anyway, I might as well plug my lastest autograph coins that I am doing with ICG which are called "SPORTS COINS"....you may have seen them on ebay and teletrade, the first is the Nolan Ryan coin with his autograph and we have others coming out as well including the next one which is Jeter! best, Jonimage

I'd be happy to buy one except:

    1. $60 is about twice what a typical 2000-P MS67 goes for.
    2. I'm afraid you might be cracking out Goodacres and trying to pass them off as regular coins.

Tad: Ah, yes, but these are anything other than "typical" image Wondercoin
