Recommendations for auction companies for ancients

I am looking for recommendations for an auction company for a small collection (perhaps 100 pieces or so) of Roman and Greek brockages, errors, and some "regular" coins. I am familiar with dealers, but not many of the auction houses. Can you recommend which auction houses are generally the "best" for a small, lower-value collection (perhaps average piece in the $100-$300 range)? Thanks.

You may want to try pecunem.com, cngcoins.com, romanumismatics.com (eAuctions), or even using the BST here. I know some members quite like brockages and I wouldn't be surprised if you get some good traction image

I go to the Goldberg Auctions which are held in Los Angeles before each Long Beach show. They usually have half a catalog worth of ancient coins in their sales. Might be worth looking into them as well.

  • CNG is a good bet

just wish there wasn't this bizarre law on the books that they decided to follow and everyone else ignores regarding shipping to MN (I can't buy anything from them)

If you have good photos, I would recommend BST. You would set the price
you desire and still have some room to negotiate. You also save the fees.
But if auction is desired then I would highly recommend CNG!! They run
electronic auctions all the time and their research dept. is excellent.
