Opinions on 1993 Upper Deck SP Boxes?

With Jeter's upcoming retirement and subsequent induction to the HOF in 5 years or so I'm curious as to the Boards' opinion on the upside potential of his RC box, the 1993 UD SP. I realize the difficulty of pulling a 10 from these packs but given the $30,000+ that Jeter's RC has gone for in the last year and the fact that full sealed boxes are still hovering around $575 I smell some serious upside. I rarely buy for investment but this one seems almost too good to be true. I realize there are probably a lot of these boxes out there but over time I would have to think that the possibility of pulling a $30k lottery ticket from one of these will shrink the population significantly in the coming years.

Thoughts on this?

Boxes are already getting hard to find. I would invest in this over other way overpriced unopened in the current market.

I agree with Larkin, I'd look to "invest" somewhere else. My primary reason is because of how hard the 10s are to come by (even more so than non-foil, vintage cards) and with this product... if these boxes aren't stored correctly (or haven't been in the past) then your chances go down even further (because of chipping and cards sticking together).

And who knows how many "extra copies" UD went back and reprinted of that card!

    I busted a box and got 2 jeters - both NM 7
Money better spent towards a solid 9

Submitted two MinSizeReq Jeters THREE times before they got graded (8 and 7.5).

    And NO they didn't grow!

But I sure do love ripping those boxes.
