Back in '99 I sold a raw Jordan that I found out graded a PSA 8.
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

Yes but they have all been a lower grade or altered. I've never gotten any grade over a 6 from a raw Jordan and 7.5 was the highest for a Topps Gretzky ($100 auction win).

Never any Jordans but I have picked up about 10 or so Gretzky RC's over the years. None in the past 2 to 3 years, but before that I grabbed the occasional raw one that I was pretty certain to be legit. All 10 graded, never had a problem, but I know what I'm doing with that particular card. I didn't end up returning any of them to the sellers after inspecting them once I received them, either. I'd say about two thirds Topps, one third OPC. However, I should add an important point that all of them were low to mid grade, highest being a 6. I find it a whole lot easier to detect real vs. fake on the lower grade ones, plus there wasn't nearly as much initial capital investment risk in a lower grade one if it did turn out to be a reprint, but the upside was that the percent profit was still great. ebay doesn't technically allow sales of raw Gretzky RC's I believe, but they do sneak through the system nonetheless.

Last time I tried to sell a raw Gretzky in a lot of 79-80 OPC's, ebay shut me down. I had to sell here on the boards.
