Sending cards to be graded that may have a value in excess of $100

I have a submission that I am preparing to send in and I have 2 cards that, in theory, have a value in excess of $100. The cards if graded a 7 would be valued of $300 + and if they come back as a 5 their value would be closer to $100. I have 2 questions:

1. Can I include these 2 cards on the $8 special?
2. Would my cards be "punished" ("since he has them valued at $100 will give them 5's)?

Thanks for any opinions and/or experience

7-5 is a big spread. Be honest of your evaluation with them. If they are really 7's, then you can't include them. If they are closer to 5, then you are probably ok.
  • When you declare a value on a form are you giving the value raw or graded?
I always thought it was raw.

It is the value of the card. How much would you need to be reimbursed should PSA mess up the card if they damage it to make you whole.

Put $99.00 on every card you submit no matter what! (Totally kidding)

    It's your call, not PSA's
That's why you put "declared" value and not "book value.
They won't question it and no, it won't by punished with a lower grade.
If you tried to sneak in a Koufax rookie, they'd probably send you an email and ask you to put that one at a higher service level. But the card you are submitting will likely present no problems.
The only danger is if something happens to your cards in transit, they won't have enough insurance to cover the loss
